No Class
No Class is a group of Maine people who began getting together in 2003 to educate each other and others on issues of class and classism. The group is led by people with a lived and/or living experience of being poor and/or working class. No Class works for justice and the redistribution of power by working with each other to reduce internalized classism, and within our communities to increase understanding, change attitudes, and to take action to overcome class inequality. The work of this project involves story-telling, organizing workshops on class and reducing classism, working with nonprofits and organizations in the state to encourage racial and class equity, and 1:1 consulting with a particular focus on class equity and social justice. We do all of this work grounded in racial justice, understanding you cannot divorce racial justice from class equity.
